As another year draws to a close here’s a quick look back at what has happened in the last 12 months. We have had our usual monthly music nights, bingo, quizzes and karaoke alongside our first vintage day and the first ever motorbike show. We are hoping to hold these events again next year and would love to see you there. Your support this year has been tremendous and we couldn’t put on these events without your help.

As you may be aware we now have a community support group who are working hard to keep the Centre and the village looking good so if anyone would like to join them on the second Wednesday of the month they would love to see you. We would like to sincerely thank our district councillors for their support in securing a grant of over £9,000 to replace our very old boiler, the new one is now up and running so if on a cold evening you feel like joining friends at the Centre you can use our heat instead of your own!!!

We now have TNT, formerly BT Sports, showing sporting events so please take a look at our Facebook page to see what is coming up this month. As Christmas approaches we have been busy organising events which you may enjoy. Sue is holding a children’s craft event on Saturday 7th December if your little one is interested, information can be found on our website. Friday 20th December will be a busy day with a children’s Christmas party in the afternoon and the brilliant Cawston band playing carols in the sports hall in the evening. Our Christmas squares draw will take place on Sunday 22nd December and of course we have a Christmas eve disco for all to enjoy.

For all our upcoming events please take a look at our website where you can purchase or reserve your tickets, some events have limited capacity so please don’t miss out. Unfortunately we have had to increase the membership price this year with new members costing £25 for the year and renewals costing £20 but this gives you 20% off our bar prices and also reductions from many businesses locally. The membership is now open for the coming year and you can join online from the comfort of your home or pop along to the Centre and fill in a form. Everyone who renews will not need a new card as your existing card will work next year you just have to take it to the front door to activate it after 1st January.

It’s been a great year and there’s lots to look forward to next, year so I would like to wish you a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year and thank you most sincerely for all the support you have given in the last 12 months.
